Gild isolates himself for several years in his workshop in Burgundy and experiments with a multitude of techniques and styles by combining different materials and supports. Influenced by art brut, he quickly developed an abstract painting. His first series, which he calls “Outre-lumière” 6, is composed of bitumen mixed with resin and ultramarine blue. In his art, he is inspired by his past as a musician and creates a direct exchange with serial and repetitive music.
